KAREN BAUSMAN JOINS NATIONAL LEADERS
FOR GSA DESIGN
EXCELLENCE IN ARCHITECTURE FORUM
Karen Bausman was a panelist at the U.S. General
Services Administration’s national forum, Function, Form, and Meaning:
Design Excellence in Federal Courthouses in Washington, D.C. The
daylong forum was held on June 1 at the Ronald Reagan Building and
International Trade Center.
Joining Ms. Bausman on the panel were Robert A.M. Stern and Hugh
Hardy. Other forum participants included GSA Chief Architect Les
Shepherd and U.S. District Court Judge Michael R. Hogan. Justice
Stephen Breyer delivered the keynote address.
Ms. Bausman was appointed a GSA Design Excellence National Peer in 2000
and has served on numerous peer reviews, including multiple reviews,
from portfolio selection through final design, for the $3000 million
U.S. Census Bureau in Suitland, Maryland. She has consulted with
the Office of the Chief Architect on design charrettes for new federal
courthouses in Greenville, South Carolina, and Anniston and Tuscaloosa,
Alabama.
